« Yvan LaFontaine’s art calls upon a truer-than-life reality; its presence is at once familiar
and strange, wonderful, ever new in its multiplicity. LaFontaine’s prints fascinate us the way we are fascinated
by face-to-face encounters, sending us back to the passion of seeing. »
-Marc LeBot, writer and art historian, Université de Paris.

About Yvan LaFontaine’s work
«
Nobody can seriously confront LaFontaine's works without feeling a surge of anxiety. The world of reflections has no mercy.
Being exposed to those in the heart of the city, we can at least lean on the deceptive certaintics we gain by looking at
reassuring patches of opaque surfaces within the depths of our three-dimensional space. But the plain reality of the
bi-dimensional surfaces of the artwork fails to offer us such reassurance.»
